The Gibraltar Health Authority Board means the Board established under Section 3 of the Medical (Gibraltar Health Authority) Act 1987.
It shall be the principal duty of the Authority to carry out thefunctions conferred upon it by the (Gibraltar Health Authority) Act 1987 or any other Medical Act so far as practicable.
Without prejudice to the generality of the provision of subsection 6.(1) of the (Gibraltar Health Authority) Act 1987 it shall be the duty of the Authority to provide a comprehensive preventive, diagnostic and treatment service in respect of physical and mental health.
Ordinary meetings of the Authority shall be held at regular intervals at such times and places as the Authority may determine.
There shall be at least four meetings of the Authority in a year.
Meetings of the Authority may include public and/or in-camera sessions.
(a) the Minister, as chairman;
(b) the Chief Secretary of the Government;
(c) the Chief Executive;
(d) two registered medical practitioners appointed by the Government on the nomination of the Medical Advisory Committee;
(e) one person appointed by the Government after consultation with the Gibraltar Trades Council; and
(f) three other persons appointed by the Government not being persons in whole or part-time employment under the Crown in right of its Government of Gibraltar, of whom one shall be a barrister or solicitor of the Supreme Court;
(g) the Financial Secretary.
